Jumping into the new year

After accidentally sending everyone to the wrong park for the parent meeting, we were finally able to get together to kick off the new year.  I must have been having a bad night because I forgot to take pictures of the team building activities.  The few pictures that were taken can be seen under the page 2015-16 Opening Social.

In case you missed the meeting, we went over a list of different stores where you can purchase dancewear.  We will be sending out an email that has that information. 

We are in the process of putting in an application to perform at Walt Disney World in the spring.  To help offset the costs, we need your help with fundraisers.  Those that help with each fundraiser will be able to apply the money towards their tour.

The Curtis family is putting together a carwash tentatively on Saturday, July 18.  We are looking for another adult to be in charge of another carwash on a different day and different location.  More information will be coming in an email.

A Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, August 7.  Each student needs to get at least 1 sponsor and 2 golfers.  Forms will be included in the email as well as information on the silent auction.

We will run a concessions booth during the BYU football games again this year.  The team captains will be sending out a google doc for signups. 

Watch your email for all the information that is going to be coming.  Students need to accept Gil Lamoureux's Facebook friend request so they can be added to the Ballroom Facebook group.  Working together we can make great things happen.  It's going to be a fantastic year!

Spring Concert

Our spring concert will be held Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday May 21 at 6:30 pm in the Lone Peak High School auditorium.  Admission is $4 for students/senior citizens and $5 for adults.  The team has had an amazing year and are looking forward to showcasing their talent!

The team takes on New York

The ballroom team just got home from the trip to New York.  We had a great experience and learned a lot at our dance instruction at Manhattan Ballroom.  The crowd at the Intrepid Museum loved our performance.  We saw the show Stomp which was amazing!  Pictures are under "Pages - New York".

Ballroom Tryouts for the 2015-2016 Year

Ballroom tryouts for next year's team will be:

April 15 from 6-8 pm in the small gym
April 16 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Little Theater

Boys Dress:  Black dress pants and white dress shirt and tie.
Girls Dress:  White top, dark skirt, hair pulled back and have a dance shoe or shoe with a heal.

ABSOLUTELY NO SNEAKERS!

Tryouts are open to incoming 9th graders enrolled at Mountain Ridge, Timberline and American Fork Junior High.  They are also open to students at American Fork High School and Lone Peak High School.

The Ballroom class is held during A1 with some early morning practices on A days.

NY TRIP - Parent Meeting

We will be having a parent meeting on Thursday, February 19.  The meeting will start at 6:00 pm and will be in the Little Theater.  We will go over the itinerary for the trip and answer any questions.  Students are also welcome to attend.
