Thanks for another great year

Congratulations to those that made the Lone Peak 2014-2015 ballroom team!  Please send an email to ballroomlphs@gmail.com so that we know you saw the list.  In the email let us know what grade you will be going into and which school you will go to next year.  That way we can help those of you looking for a carpool.

2014-2015 ballroom tryouts

Tryouts for the 2014-2015 ballroom team will be held on Wednesday, March 19 and Thursday, March 20 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the small gym.  Tryouts will be open to all students that will be in 9th - 12th grade next school year.

Wednesday will begin at 4:00 pm with a parent meeting that will last approximately 30 minutes.  All parents and students wishing to tryout are strongly encouraged to attend.  After the meeting, students will stay to learn and practice a couple of dance numbers.  Guys are encouraged to wear a dance shoe or a church shoe.  Girls should wear a dance shoe or a shoe with a heel.

Thursday tryouts will begin at 4:00 pm  in the small gym.  Guys should wear church pants, white shirt and tie with a dance shoe or church shoe.  NO SNEAKERS!  Girls should wear a skirt - preferably black - that does not go all the way to the floor.  Girls should wear a dance shoe or a shoe with a heel and have their hair pulled back.

If you have a conflict with either date, please send an email to Kayti at kaytipatterson@gmail.com to make other arrangements.

Next year the ballroom class will be held during A1 (7:45 - 8:55 on Mondays and 7:45 - 9:09 the other days).  Those that need to travel back to other schools after class will be let out early so they can change and make it back to their school on time.  There will be some early morning practices on A days, so if you are scheduling early morning seminary or other early morning classes, schedule those for B days.

Provo High School Dancesport Championships

Congratulations to the Lone Peak High School Ballroom team!  They took the State award for the Youth Large Group Showdance in the High School division, 2nd place in Youth Large Group Showdance and 3rd place in Youth Latin Medley.  They competed against some really tough teams but held their own!  Pictures can be found on the right side of the blog under Pages.  You guys did awesome!

Semi-final Football Halftime Show

Although it was an extremely cold night, the ballroom team helped heat up the stadium during the halftime show.  Next year maybe we perform wearing LONG sleeves! Pictures can be viewed under Pages : 2013 Semi-final football halftime show.
